How Affiliate Fraud Happens and What You Can Do to Avoid It

Affiliate fraud is something that happens to a lot of people. In fact, there are two main types of affiliate fraud that we are going to talk about today. The first one has to do with linking up with other peoples' websites. The second thing has to do with giving away free websites. Both of these things can lead to affiliate fraud, and we are going to talk about what to look out for, that way that you may be able to avoid it.

If you can avoid it happening to you, then you are going to be ahead of the game. No one wants to be a victim of fraud, so we want to do everything that we can to prevent it. Fraud does nothing good for your website, and that is why people look for ways to stop it.

First of all, the biggest kind of affiliate fraud that you are going to run into is the kind that has to do with linking to other websites. The biggest thing that affiliate companies do to improve their online ranking is to link up with other sites. Now, when you do a link exchange with someone, they put your link on their page, and you put their link on your page. It is a free exchange, and as long as you keep their link on your page, they are going to keep up your link on their site. This is a good way to increase your ranking on search engines.

However, what some sites like to do is to put your link on their page for a few days, that way you can check to make sure it works once or twice, and then when they figure you are done checking it, they take your link down. However, you do not know that, so you keep their link up. This means they are getting a free ride and you are not getting anything for it. This does no good for you. The best way to avoid this is to keep checking your link every few days to make sure it works on their site. You may use a free ''back links checking'' software to check your back links on a regular basis. It takes only a few minutes and that way you may rest in peace.

The other kind of affiliate fraud comes to the companies that like to give out free websites. Most of the time, these companies offer you a free website so that you can sell their products. Then you get a certain amount of money for selling things on their website. The problem is, a lot of people then take this idea and try to make money out of it. They tell people that if they give them a start up cost, they will give them a free website with products all ready to sell on it. Thus, people are having to pay for a site that should be free. Talk about a rip off!
